Each year – the first full week of August is the Johnson County Fair which takes places at the Fairgrounds in Gardner KS. This year the dates are August 2nd-August 7th. The event has been a long tradition for Johnson County – since the early 1940′s! Each year they have over 40,000 visitors or more! There are all kinds of activities:
- carnival
- fire fighter & police demonstrations
- Dog Shows – agility & obedience
- Demolition Derby on Sat night at 7 pm
- Midwest Cloggers Show on Friday night
- Barrel Racing on Friday night
- Amateur Flat Track Racing on Thursday night
- 4-H projects
- Livestock Judging
- Concert – on Tuesday night – Misty Mountain Revival
- Dance Programs
There’s a something for everyone!! Make sure you take part in this long rich tradition for the area! It’s a great way to spend an evening outdoors! Might be a little hot & humid – but that’s living in Kansas!
